abstract:     
Heating systems are important components in many industries. Its main function is to regulate the process temperature at the desired level during the manufacturing process. Currently, mainly the PID controllers are being used for such purpose in the industry. However, these conventional controllers may not be sufficient due to the complexity of the plant and also the existence of non-linearity. In this paper, fuzzy logic techniques are used as to control heating system. The uses of these technologies in industrial plants are still new even in developed countries. These systems was developed using Cx-process tool, Cx-programmer and CitectScada. A performance comparison between the fuzzy logic controller and PID controller are discussed in this paper. The result shows that the fuzzy logic controller has better performance compared to PID controller.
