The MBMT department is focusing on Machine Tools as its model/concept for the term "Machine" simply because the machine tool provides all aspects necessary in acquiring the knowledge of maintenance and upgrading of any machine used in production. These aspects include:- Mechanical design (AutoCAD, CAD/CAM/Solid Work/CATIA) Fabrication and Maintenance Machine Control (automation /electrical) Industrial organization / management Metrology aspect such as verification and calibration of measuring instruments
At the end of the course of study the prospective MBMT graduates so call 'Technologist' should be able to maintain and upgrade production machines, namely machine tools. Production machine include:-
Milling machines (conventional / CNC) Lathe machines (conventional / CNC) Surface / Cylindrical grinding machines (conventional / CNC) Drilling machines Press machines Other automated machineries
